CAT | Writing Contests
We are pleased to announce these contests that are open to any writer and sponsored by The Writers’ Workshop of Asheville, NC, a non-profit organization founded in 1985. For information, please call them at (828) 254-8111, or send them an email @ writersw@gmail.com
Guidelines for all contests:
- All work must be unpublished.
- Pages should be paper clipped, with your name, address, email, phone and title of work on a cover sheet.
- Double-space, and use 12 point font.
- Enclose self-addressed, stamped envelope for return of your entry, which will be critiqued by contest judges.
- The reading fee is $25 per entry.

FICTION CONTEST Deadline: Extended to October 30, 2010.
Guidelines: Submit a story or chapter of a novel of 4,000 words or less.
1st Place: Your choice of a 3 night stay at The Mountain Muse B&B in Asheville; or 3 free workshops; or 100 pages line-edited and revised by our editorial staff
2nd Place: 2 night stay at the B&B; or 2 free workshops; or 50 pages line-edited
3rd Place: One free workshop, or 25 pages line-edited

22st ANNUAL MEMOIRS COMPETITION Deadline: Postmarked by December 30, 2010.
Guidelines: Submit a memoir of 4,000 words or less.

Changing My World Essay Contest (for ages 18 and under)
Deadline: Postmarked by October 30, 2010. Write an essay of 15 pages or less, double-spaced, about an issue that concerns you (for example: environmental, social, educational, etc.) Research your topic, and offer possible
